I went to Ototo Sushi last night, and while the ambiance isn't anything fancy--just your typical, no-frills sushi spot--the food more than makes up for it. The sushi here is fantastic. I had the yellowtail sashimi, the Kraken Roll, and the Balboa Roll, and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The yellowtail sashimi was buttery and delicate, exactly how it should be. The Kraken Roll was the standout--packed with flavor and the perfect balance of texture. The Balboa Roll was also great, but the Kraken Roll is an absolute must-try. If you're looking for high-quality sushi without the over-the-top decor or sky-high prices, Ototo is the place to go. Highly recommend, especially the Kraken Roll!
This is our favorite sushi spot by our house, the service is always great, the quality of the sushi is top-notch, and it's beautiful and clean inside! This is where I have my friends meet me often and this is where me and my husband go to eat sushi pretty much all of the time !!
I've been to Ototo many times and will keep coming back for more. The Lemon Cilantro roll is my absolute favorite, followed by the Point Break (has kick), and the Bruce Lee (creamy). I would also get the Crunchy Dragon again and think the Picasso is okay (has kick). I personally would not get the Balboa or Kraken again. Hope this helps you choose a roll. :) In regards to the ambiance, I enjoy being able and to sit outside and be surrounded by trees. Go to Ototo and check it out yourself! :)
The cilantro lemon roll is to die for The rolls here are fairly priced for the quality, I've only door dashed from this restaurant but I'm excited to go in and see it for myself!
We ordered delivery. Our food was delicious. I especially loved the Bruce Lee roll. I will definitely order that one again when we are back in San Diego.
